New Mexico Hunt 2009

If you have ever hunted the Archery hunt in New Mexico then you know that it can be one of the funnest and most challenging bowhunts. January is the month this hunt takes place and the bucks are in full rut. Sounds perfect for a bowhunt right? Well think again because there is very little cover and the bucks are surrounded by many lady deer at ALL times which creates a fairly big challenge when that many sets of eyes are on the lookout. Ive made it a habit to find myself in NM each year and my good buddy Wayne lives in the area and he is the ultimate hunting partner! This deer was not the BIG one that I hoped for but he is another trophy in my book knowing how tough it was to connect on this buck. Good times and some very unique country to spend time in.
